A special aircraft carrying Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, on its way to the national capital, was diverted to Jaipur due to bad weather in Delhi.
It led to abrupt changes in Siddaramaiah's travel itinerary and planned agenda. Officials have said the aircraft was diverted due to lack of visibility and volatile weather in the capital. The aircraft landed in Jaipur, where it was grounded till the weather cleared. Air traffic databases have shown that airports in and around Delhi have often been disrupted during the monsoon season due to heavy rains, strong winds and low visibility. It often leads to last-minute aircraft diversions to airports like Jaipur.
Jaipur Landing Postpones Schedule
The aircraft diversion has caused a sudden change of plans for Siddaramaiah as it delayed and postponed his engagements during the day, including a meeting with senior Congress leaders.
It has been confirmed by officials that the aircraft handled the situation and landed in Jaipur without any technical issues.
Weather Flight Disruptions In Delhi Region
Delhi airport has received several flight diversions recently after weather took a turn for the worse. During heavy rainfall, jetliners are being diverted to Jaipur, Lucknow and Chandigarh.
This move shows how a change in weather can affect both high-level political travel and regular flights in and out of the capital. The aviation authorities say that diversions are carried out as a safety measure whenever the weather at the destination airport is not conducive to landing, though it may be inconvenient for passengers.
Officials say that the Karnataka chief minister will return to Delhi once the weather calms down and will be directed to do so on a revised schedule.
