Itanagar: A containerised oxygen generation and refilling facility was inaugurated on Thursday at the Borarupak Field Hospital in the Subansiri Valley of Arunachal Pradesh , aimed at enhancing medical assistance for soldiers and civilians living in remote and high-altitude regions.

The facility, set up with support from the Soldiers' Independent Rehabilitation Foundation, was inaugurated by the General Officer Commanding of the Spear Corps.

The event was attended by senior Army officials, representatives of the state administration, veterans and members of the local community, according to a defence communiqué issued on Thursday.

Equipped to provide a steady and dependable supply of medical-grade oxygen, the plant is expected to significantly strengthen the operational capacity of the field hospital, enabling it to better serve both Army personnel and residents of nearby areas.

Given the logistical challenges and limited healthcare infrastructure in high-altitude and remote locations, the availability of an on-site oxygen generation and refilling facility will serve as a vital support system for emergency and routine medical care.

Officials noted that the initiative also demonstrates close civil-military cooperation, reflecting the collaborative efforts of the armed forces and civil society in promoting humanitarian service and public welfare.
