The Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi International (LGBI) Airport in Guwahati has achieved a major milestone in sustainability by earning the prestigious Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWL) Platinum - Class I Rating, highlighting its commitment to environmentally responsible operations..

The airport successfully diverted over 99.9% of its waste from landfills, implementing the 5R framework - Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle, and Recover - across all its activities.

By effectively preventing waste from reaching landfills, the airport has demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainable operations.

The airport's efforts were evaluated under criteria that measure diversion of waste from landfills as part of the ZWL certification process.

With this accomplishment, LGBIA becomes the fifth airport under Adani Airports Holdings Limited to secure the ZWL Platinum distinction, joining the ranks of airports in Trivandrum, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Lucknow.

In addition, the airport has achieved Level L3 traceability for its processed waste, ensuring transparency and accountability in waste management process.

The milestone reflects the group's broader push for environmentally responsible operations and positions LGBI as a leading example of eco-conscious airports in India.
