Guwahati: The Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST), Guwahati, will host the 12th Plasma Scholars' Colloquium from July 9 to 11, bringing together students, research scholars and scientists from across the country to discuss the latest developments in plasma science and technology.
The three-day event is being jointly organised by IASST and the Plasma Science Society of India (PSSI).
It is aimed at providing a platform for undergraduate and postgraduate students, doctoral researchers and post-doctoral fellows to present their work, exchange ideas and build collaborations within the scientific community.
The colloquium will feature oral and poster presentations by students and young researchers, alongside keynote lectures by leading plasma scientists from various institutions across India.
Scientific sessions will focus on a broad spectrum of topics, including fundamental plasma physics, plasma applications in energy and space, environmental and healthcare technologies, plasma-based material processing, plasma diagnostics, simulation studies, industrial plasma applications, laser plasmas, nuclear fusion technology, space and astrophysical plasmas, as well as exotic plasma systems such as dusty plasmas.
According to the organisers, the event is intended to promote scientific interaction among emerging researchers while offering participants an opportunity to engage with experts and gain exposure to recent advances in plasma science and technology.
The colloquium is also expected to strengthen research collaborations and contribute to the growth of the plasma science community in India.
