Built by the Gojendro Foundation within the CHC premises, the new structure is intended to support the expansion and modernisation of healthcare services, with a special focus on maternal care through a dedicated maternity ward.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that the new facility is as a significant step towards strengthening hope, dignity, and care for the people, particularly women and mothers, who form the backbone of society.

He highlighted the enduring strength, resilience, and moral leadership of the Ima community, noting their historic role in shaping society and championing justice and peace, and observed that the initiative reflected a broader vision of strengthening healthcare infrastructure through collective effort.

He also lauded the Gojendro Foundation for its continued work for marginalised communities and for contributing to the strengthening of public healthcare infrastructure through this initiative, calling it a strong example of collaboration between philanthropy and governance.

Highlighting the importance of the maternity ward, the Governor said better access to quality maternal healthcare would contribute to safer motherhood and healthier generations.

During the programme, representatives of the CHC also submitted memoranda to the Governor, outlining key challenges related to service delivery and shortages in medical equipment.

The event was attended by Minister for Home and Youth Affairs & Sports, K. Govindas Singh, along with MLAs from Thanga, Nambol, Oinam, Moirang, Kumbi, and Lilong Assembly constituencies.
