Imphal: Four militants belonging to different insurgent groups were apprehended by security forces near the India-Myanmar border in Manipur's Tengnoupal district , police said on Saturday.
According to officials, the arrests were made during an operation conducted at Yangoubung village under the jurisdiction of Moreh police station.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Keisham Sumanta Meitei (25), a member of the People's Liberation Army; Angom Somorjit Singh (32), associated with the NRFM; and Yumnam Naoba Singh (26) and Khundrakpam Shyamson Meitei (25), both linked to the Kangleipak Communist Party (MFL).
On 02.04.2026, security forces arrested 04 (four) VBIGs from Yangoubung village under Moreh-PS, Tengnoupal district. They were identified as:

Police said intelligence-driven combing, cordon and search operations are being carried out across the state to track down individuals involved in extortion and other criminal activities.
Meanwhile, security forces have continued search operations and area domination exercises in fringe and vulnerable locations across several districts of Manipur.
Authorities also ensured the movement of 276 vehicles transporting essential commodities along National Highway 37.
Officials said stringent security arrangements have been put in place at vulnerable points, while security convoys are being deployed in sensitive stretches to facilitate the safe and uninterrupted movement of vehicles.
Meanwhile, a total of 117 nakas and checkpoints were set up across different districts of the state, covering both hill and valley areas. However, no individuals were detained during the checks, officials said.
