The outcome of the Assembly elections in Assam and West Bengal reflects strong public confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said on Monday.
Congratulating the BJP leadership, Sangma noted that the electoral mandate signals public support for policies focused on development and inclusive growth.
The National People's Party (NPP) leader also extended his congratulations to Himanta Biswa Sarma for the party's strong performance in Assam.

The Bharatiya Janata Party described the results as a "historic victory," particularly in West Bengal, where the party has surged ahead in more than 200 seats, crossing the majority mark and positioning itself to form the government for the first time.
The results indicate an end to the 15-year rule of the Trinamool Congress in the state.
In Assam, the BJP is set to retain power, while the National Democratic Alliance is also poised to return to office in Puducherry.
Reacting to the results on social media platform X, Amit Shah said the party's success in West Bengal was the outcome of sustained efforts and sacrifices by its workers, many of whom faced challenges but remained committed to the party's cause.
