Guwahati: In a significant step towards transforming branch banking experience and digital banking accessibility, Slice Bank introduced 'Slice One', an advanced AI-powered banking terminal designed to deliver comprehensive branch banking services through a single intelligent interface.
Slice One is designed to be an AI and digitally powered banking terminal that brings together the core capabilities of a full-service branch into a single compact unit.
The platform currently supports account opening within minutes, instant debit card printing, cash deposits and withdrawals, QR-based banking interactions, assisted onboarding, NFC payments, and biometric authentication.
Additional capabilities, including credit products, cheque issuance, and expanded servicing workflows, will continue to be integrated into the platform over time. The goal of slice one is not simply to replicate a traditional branch experience, but to make physical banking more intelligent and operationally efficient.
By integrating AI-assisted workflows and API-led banking infrastructure, the system is designed to reduce operational friction and enable on-ground banking teams to focus more on helping merchants and businesses do more with their money.
Slice Bank's mission is to improve the way India uses money and build systems that make banking faster, simpler, and more useful.
While consumer banking has rapidly become digital-first, merchant banking still requires a strong physical layer for use cases like cash handling, cheque processing, onboarding, and QR-code-based transactions.
With the launch of Slice One, Slice Bank is taking a significant step toward reimagining physical banking infrastructure for both consumers and merchants in India
The platform has also been built for scalable deployment across metro cities, semi-urban centres, and remote locations without requiring heavy infrastructure investments.
Its modular and technology-led architecture enables faster rollout while maintaining a seamless banking experience. UPI-native infrastructure remains central to how Slice Bank plans to scale Slice One across India.
The platform reflects the growing convergence of digital payments and physical banking infrastructure, bringing together onboarding, servicing, payments, and cash management into a single integrated merchant-focused banking system.
The introduction of Slice One in Guwahati was marked by the presence of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Minister Ashok Singhal.
Dilip Asbe, MD & CEO, National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), also attended the launch and shared his vision for how UPI-led infrastructure can continue expanding access to digital payments and banking services across the country.
Slice Bank plans to expand Slice One across its branch network as part of its broader effort to build technology-led banking infrastructure that is more accessible, scalable, and aligned with the evolving needs of merchants and businesses across India.
