A renowned oral and maxillofacial surgeon himself, Dr. Saha is attending the conference as the chief guest.

The event has brought together leading surgeons, researchers, academicians and postgraduate students from across India as well as international participants to discuss recent advancements in the specialty.

Upon his arrival on Thursday, Dr. Saha was welcomed by Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla at his residence.

The two leaders held discussions on issues related to healthcare and medical education. Dr. Saha was accompanied by his wife, Swapna Saha.

Speaking about the significance of the conference, Shukla said the convention would provide an important platform for knowledge-sharing among medical professionals, allowing participants to exchange ideas and stay updated on emerging developments in oral and maxillofacial surgery.

He noted that Dr. Saha's distinguished career as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon would serve as an inspiration for young doctors and researchers.

According to Shukla, such academic platforms play a vital role in encouraging innovation, strengthening professional collaboration and improving the overall quality of healthcare services.

The convention is jointly organised by the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India (AOMSI), its Madhya Pradesh State Chapter, and People's University, Bhopal.

This year's conference is centred on the theme, "Creating a Wholesome Surgeon," with scientific sessions focusing on advanced surgical techniques, complex clinical procedures, cutting-edge research and new approaches to medical education.

The programme also includes paper presentations and hands-on workshops showcasing the latest practices in oral and maxillofacial surgery, with emphasis on enhancing patient care through innovation and evidence-based treatment.

Organisers said the event is designed to encourage collaboration among specialists while exposing postgraduate students to evolving global standards in the discipline.

They added that the participation of senior surgeons and academicians would help bridge the gap between research and clinical practice, while promoting the adoption of modern surgical techniques across institutions.
