Itanagar: The United Christian Forum (UCF) has appointed former president and general secretary of the Arunachal Christian Forum, Toko Teki, as its spokesperson for Northeast India.
The appointment will come into effect from April 16, according to a press communiqué issued on April 13.
Teki is widely known for his involvement in student leadership, social service, sports promotion and Christian leadership activities.
Over the years, he has held several key roles, including spokesperson of the All Nyishi Students' Union and founder of the All Yachuli Students' Union in 1990. He also served as vice president of the Arunachal Olympic Association and has been recognised as an important promoter of sports in the state.
In recognition of his contributions, the Arunachal Pradesh government awarded him a State Gold Medal. He is also among the longest-serving leaders of a Christian organisation in the state, having led the Arunachal Christian Forum from 2005 to 2022.
His appointment has been welcomed by several Christian organisations across different districts of Arunachal Pradesh.
Welcoming the appointment, UCF national president Michael Williams said Teki's commitment and dedication as a Christian leader would strengthen the organisation's efforts to address social inequality and religious persecution.
The United Christian Forum currently operates a toll-free helpline (1800-208-4545), launched on January 19, 2026, to help protect fundamental freedoms and promote constitutional values such as justice, liberty, equality and fraternity.
The helpline supports individuals facing difficulties by guiding them through legal procedures and connecting them with relevant authorities.
The organisation also works on documenting alleged cases of discrimination, providing legal assistance and advocating for constitutional rights while promoting communal harmony.
Accepting the new responsibility, Teki said he had taken up the role not for personal gain or commercial interest but as an opportunity to grow in his spiritual life and public ministry while serving the community.
