Guwahati: Meghalaya Chief Minister and National People's Party (NPP) president Conrad K. Sangma is set to address a major election rally at Bongaon under the Boko-Chaygaon Assembly constituency on April 6, as part of the party's campaign for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections.
Preparations for the rally are underway at the Santi-Nijora Club meeting hall, where party leaders and local organisers are coordinating logistical arrangements. The event is being projected as a key campaign push aimed at strengthening the NPP's presence in the constituency.
Senior party leaders, including Bajengdoba MLA Pongseng R. Marak, National Vice-President I. Hemochandra Singh, and Boko-Chaygaon candidate Ganseng B. Sangma, visited the venue to review preparations. Party workers were also present during the inspection.
According to party sources, the rally is expected to draw participation from NPP leaders and legislators from Meghalaya as well as other states, underscoring the party's wider organisational reach.
The NPP leadership indicated that the rally will focus on outlining its political agenda for Assam, with emphasis on enhancing regional representation and expanding its electoral footprint in the state.
Local organisers expressed confidence that the event would energise party workers and engage voters ahead of polling, particularly in the Boko-Chaygaon constituency, where the party is seeking to consolidate its position.
