Guwahati: Gauhati University on Saturday clarified that no admission notification for the upcoming academic session 2026-27 has been released yet, dismissing reports circulating on external platforms.
The clarification follows the spread of misleading information by an education portal operating under the name Education Dunia.
According to an official spokesperson, the information being circulated is "unauthorised" and does not represent the university's official position.
The university noted that the misinformation had caused confusion among prospective students and guardians. It urged all undergraduate aspirants to rely only on official communication channels for accurate updates.
Gauhati University further stated that all admission-related announcements, including details of the Common Admission Portal, will be released through the Department of Higher Education, Government of Assam and its official website.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency, the university advised stakeholders to verify all updates through authorised sources to avoid being misled.
