Academic Qualification :
The essential qualification for all departments is a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline or in the area advertised, with a first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc.) in the preceding degree, and a consistently strong academic record throughout. However, candidates who hold a Ph.D. in other areas are also eligible to apply if their recent research work falls within the advertised areas.
Experience
Assistant Professor Grade II (contractual) :
Candidates who meet all the criteria for Assistant Professor Grade I, except the post-Ph.D. experience requirement, may be appointed as Assistant Professor Grade II with appropriate pay based on the number of years of post-doctoral experience.
Assistant Professor Grade I :
A minimum of three years of post-Ph.D teaching / research / professional experience, excluding the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D. The candidate should have demonstrated research capabilities in terms of publications in reputed journals and conferences.
Associate Professor :
A minimum of 6 years post-Ph.D teaching/research/professional experience of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor Grade I in IITs, IISc, IISERs, IIMs or at an equivalent level in any other Indian/Foreign Universities/ Institutions/Industries of comparable level.
Professor :
A minimum of 10 years post-Ph.D. teaching/research/professional experience. At least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IISc, IISERs, IIMs or at an equivalent level in any other Indian/Foreign Universities/ Institutions of comparable level.
