Guwahati: A 47-year-old South Korean national was stabbed to death by his live-in partner during a domestic altercation at their apartment in Greater Noida's Sector 150 early Sunday, police said, adding that the accused has confessed to the crime.

The victim, Yuh Duck-Hee, a native of Cheongju in South Korea, worked as a manager at a logistics company in Greater Noida and had been living in India for nearly 10 years. He resided at ATS Pious Hideways Society with his partner, Lunjeana Pamai, a woman in her 20s from Manipur.

Police said the incident occurred between 3 am and 4 am, following an argument after Pamai objected to Yuh consuming more alcohol. The dispute escalated into a physical fight, during which Pamai allegedly stabbed Yuh in the chest with a knife, fatally injuring him.

After the incident, Pamai contacted the victim's driver and informed him about the stabbing. The driver rushed to the apartment and took Yuh to Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead and alerted the police.

During questioning, Pamai confessed to stabbing Yuh, police said. Based on the driver's complaint, a case of murder has been registered against her under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Knowledge Park Police Station.

A senior police officer said the couple had been living together for about one-and-a-half years and had met at a party in Gurugram nearly two years ago. Preliminary investigation indicated that the couple had frequent disputes.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Sudhir Kumar said further investigation is underway. Police have informed the victim's family, who are expected to arrive in Noida soon.
