Mizoram lifts restriction on entry of non-essential commodities

The Mizoram government has lifted the restriction on entry of transport vehicles carrying non-essential commodities into the state, a statement by state information and public relation department said on Friday.

The order came into effect from July 8, it said.

All types of commodities will now be permitted to be transported to the state without obtaining prior permission from the state government, it said.

"Government of Mizoram has now lifted the restriction on entry or movement of non-essential commodities into the state. All categories of vehicles now permitted to transport commodities without separate permission from the state home department," the statement said.

However, mPASS registration on the mCovid-19 application and submission of a self-declaration at the entry point will be mandatory, it added.

Earlier, prior permission was required from the state Home department to transport non-essential commodities even as transportation of essential commodities was allowed without permission.
