Budding fashion designer's heart beats in young mason's body
Representatives of Donate Life, a non-government organization, approached Jhanvi's father Tejas Patel, a jeweller, and mother Amita Patel who agreed to donate her organs. Surat: The heart of Jhanvi Tejas Patel, 21, a budding fashion designer, declared dead in a city hospital, was flown from Surat to Mulund in Mumbai in 107 minutes and transplanted into a 26-year-old mason on Tuesday. She was admitted to Sanjivani Hospital and then INS Hospital where the doctors declared her dead on November 19. The heart of the donor reached Mumbai from Surat in 107 minutes through the green corridor created by police for the ambulance. His heart functioned with only 15 per cent capacity which dropped to two per cent recently.
