Balasore: A routine morning at Shishu Mandir in Nilagiri, Balasore, turned into chaos when a sudden swarm of honeybees attacked staff and students, sending panic through the school.

Three teachers, Krushna Chandra Hota, Prabhamanjari Nayak and Deeptimayi Prusti sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Nilagiri Hospital. A girl student was also stung. Hota's condition is reported to be critical.

According to eyewitnesses, the attack began as Hota entered the school with his daughter. The bees first swarmed the girl, and when Hota tried to protect her, the insects turned aggressive, stinging him repeatedly. Two female teachers who rushed to help were also targeted, leaving them badly injured.

With fear spreading across classrooms, school authorities declared an immediate holiday to ensure the safety of students and staff.

The reason behind the bees' sudden aggression remains unclear, though officials are investigating. For now, the teachers are recovering in hospital and parents demanding stronger safety measures to prevent such freak attacks in the future.
