After Champat Rai's Exit, Ram Mandir Trust Appoints Krishna Mohan as Interim General Secretary

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on Monday named newly inducted trustee Krishna Mohan as Interim General Secretary, filling the vacancy left after Champat Rai's resignation, as the temple body moved to tighten its administrative machinery following the alleged donation theft controversy.

The decision came at a meeting inside the Ram Janmabhoomi complex that ran over three hours and was advanced from its original July 11 date to July 6 in light of the row. Trust treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri said full administrative appointments would be finalised only after the Special Investigation Team (SIT) submits its report, expected before the Trust’s next meeting on July 22.

Krishna Mohan, a retired Indian Forest Service officer of the Maharashtra cadre hailing from Chandrapur village in Hardoi district, has been active in social work since retirement. His induction also keeps Dalit representation intact within the Trust, a position earlier held by Kameshwar Chaupal.

Govind Giri said a small committee had been formed to recommend systemic improvements. “The work we undertake from now on will be carried out in such a manner that no one will be able to point to even the slightest lapse,” he said.

Trust chairman Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, Shankaracharya Swami Vasudevanand Saraswati, Yug Purush Swami Parmanand, Pejawar seer Swami Vishwaprasannatirtha and Ayodhya District Magistrate Shashank Tripathi attended the meeting.
