Agra: A Class 1 student died in UP's Agra after falling through a broken floorboard of a moving school bus. The girl, identified as Naina, was run over by the vehicle's rear wheels in the Etmadpur area of Agra on Wednesday afternoon.
The accident occurred around 3 pm when a bus belonging to a private School was dropping children home. A portion of the bus floor suddenly gave way, causing Naina to fall onto the road. She was run over by the rear wheels of the bus. Other children raised an alarm, but the driver fled after stopping the vehicle.
Police have seized the bus and sent the body for post-mortem. The incident comes just two weeks after a similar tragedy in Aligarh, where a seven-year-old girl died in a school bus mishap.
Following a complaint from the victim's family, who alleged repeated warnings about the damaged floor were ignored, police arrested school manager Arvind Yadav and driver Chandraprakash for criminal negligence.
