According to Election Commission data, Kishor is ahead by 23756 votes, while BJP's youth wing leader Neeraj Kumar trails by just over 17110 votes. RJD's Rekha Kumari is placed third with 4850.

Polling on July 30 recorded a turnout of 34.30%, lower than the 41.45% in the last Assembly elections. With 26 candidates in the fray, the outcome is being seen as a test of voter sentiment amid nationwide student protests over alleged paper leaks.
