Bhadrak: In a late-night crackdown on Friday, police in Bhadrak on Friday busted a suspected cow-smuggling racket through coordinated raids at six locations across the town.
The operation led to the arrest of two accused and the seizure of cash, gold ornaments, and bank passbooks.
Acting on specific intelligence, teams carried out simultaneous raids at three premises under Bhadrak Town Police Station and three under Bhadrak Old Bazaar Police Station. The arrested have been identified as Jahid Khan alias Jaiful (19) of Nangamahala village under Puruna Bazar Police Station, and Matar Khan, both residents of Bhadrak district.
The raids, supervised by the Additional Superintendent of Police, uncovered financial documents and valuables believed to be linked to the smuggling network. Preliminary investigation suggests connections to a wider syndicate, with efforts underway to trace other individuals involved.
Police have registered a case and further investigation is in progress.
