Bhubaneswar: Odisha has taken a bold step to put its culinary heritage on the global map by appointing celebrity chef Ranveer Brar as brand ambassador for Odia cuisine.
The announcement, made during the ongoing Odia Paksha celebrations, signals the state's intent to showcase its rich food traditions to a wider audience.
Joining Brar in the initiative are MasterChef India finalists Anju and Manju, along with Season 6 winner Abinas Nayak, all tasked with popularizing Odia delicacies. A formal agreement was signed by the Tourism Department in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
Expressing gratitude, Brar said he felt "extremely honoured" to take on the responsibility, adding that the sacred Mahaprasad of Lord Jagannath and the diverse flavors of Odia cuisine deserved global recognition. "With the blessings of Lord Jagannath, I will proudly promote Odia food on international platforms," he affirmed, urging people of Odisha to support the campaign digitally and physically.
The initiative blends traditional recipes with modern outreach strategies, aiming to elevate Odisha's food culture into the global culinary conversation.
