Bhubaneswar: Odisha has unveiled a detailed roadmap for the upcoming Rabi paddy procurement season under the 2025-26 Kharif Marketing Season, promising higher returns and tighter checks for farmers.
Registration will open from March 10 to March 20, while procurement will run between May 1 and June 30, 2026.
In a major boost to cultivators, the government has fixed the procurement price at Rs 3,100 per quintal. This includes the Minimum Support Price of Rs 2,369 plus Rs 731 per quintal as input assistance under the Krushak Samrudhi Yojana.
To simplify the process, land-owning farmers can renew registration with a "one-click" system, while sharecroppers must submit fresh applications along with landowner consent and Aadhaar details.
For the first time, satellite imagery will verify cultivation status, and the portal has been linked to Bhulekh land records to block claims on non-cultivable plots. Farmers using borewells or lift irrigation must also provide electricity consumer numbers for cross-verification.
Procurement will cover 20 districts, including Bargarh, Sambalpur, Kalahandi, Balasore, and Cuttack. Authorities have warned of strict action against fraudulent claims, including permanent bans and criminal proceedings. The final list of eligible farmers will be published by April 30, ahead of procurement.
