Kendrapada: In an anti-corruption sweep, Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday unearthed a treasure trove of assets linked to Forest Ranger Rabindra Kumar Nayak, posted in Kendrapada district, exposing what officials suspect to be disproportionate wealth far beyond his known income.
The raids, carried out simultaneously at four locations in Cuttack and Kendrapada, revealed a luxurious four-storey palatial residence spanning 6,400 sq ft in Munduli, Baranga, another residential building in Sahadapada, and six prime plots in Baranga.
Investigators also seized Rs 2.14 lakh in cash, Rs 43 lakh in bank deposits, gold jewellery, a Mahindra Grand Vitara SUV, and a two-wheeler.
Teams led by five DSPs, nine Inspectors, and supporting staff conducted the searches under warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack. Technical experts are now assessing the valuation of the properties and verifying other financial investments.
The operation was launched following allegations that Nayak possessed disproportionate assets (DA). Vigilance officials said the raids are still underway, with further details expected as the investigation progresses.
