Mumbai: On cricket legend Sourav Ganguly's 54th birthday, Bollywood served up a special gift, the first look of Dada, a biopic starring Rajkummar Rao as the iconic former Indian captain.
The unveiled poster recreates one of cricket's most unforgettable moments: Ganguly's shirtless celebration at Lord's after India's stunning victory in the 2002 NatWest Series final. Rao is seen swirling the Indian jersey in triumph, echoing the passion and defiance that defined Ganguly's leadership.
Sharing the look, Rao wrote: "Happy Birthday, our dearest Dada." Ganguly himself responded warmly: "The best gift ever! Can't wait to see you play my cover drive!"
Produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg under Luv Films, the film is being directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. With Rao stepping into the shoes of one of India's most charismatic captains, Dada promises to be a stirring tribute to the man who changed the face of Indian cricket.
