Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha on Saturday publicly countered allegations levelled by his own party, the Aam Aadmi Party, days after being removed as its deputy leader in the Upper House.

In a video message on X, Chadha termed the accusations a "co-ordinated and scripted campaign", saying he chose to respond before "false claims gain credibility". The party had accused him of avoiding criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, failing to support a resolution against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and raising trivial issues in Parliament.

Rejecting the charges, Chadha said, "This is a white lie," challenging AAP to cite a single instance where he did not back Opposition walkouts. "There are CCTVs all around Parliament. Anyone can check," he added.

On the impeachment motion, he pointed out that "6-7 AAP MPs" had also not signed it. "There are 10 Rajya Sabha MPs from the AAP. Why am I being singled out?" he asked.

Dismissing claims that he avoided key issues, Chadha said, "I am in Rajya Sabha to raise people's issues… not to create ruckus but to create impact," listing interventions on pollution, education and railway concerns.

Earlier, the party led by Arvind Kejriwal replaced Chadha with MP Ashok Mittal, citing his silence on key developments.
