Bhadrak: A government school headmaster in Chandabali block of Bhadrak district has landed in serious trouble after being accused of attending school in inebriated state.
The Block Education Officer (BEO) suspended Headmaster Srinath Das of Binapani Nodal UPS on charges of this alleged gross misconduct.
According to the official order, Das was allegedly spotted consuming alcohol in a public market during school hours on June 30, 2026. He later attended school in an intoxicated state, behaviour deemed unbecoming of a government servant.
Pending disciplinary proceedings, Das has been placed under suspension with immediate effect. His headquarters during the suspension period will be at Balisahi UP School in Chandabali block, and he has been directed not to leave without prior permission from the competent authority.
The incident has sparked concern among parents and education officials, highlighting the need for stricter accountability in schools.
