Police suspect he was murdered by unidentified miscreants who dumped his body on a public road before fleeing.

The deceased, identified as Srijan Kumar, hailed from Jharkhand but had been residing in Muchbahal for the past two decades. He worked locally as a commercial driver in the mining sector.

Locals spotted Kumar's body lying abandoned and immediately alerted police. Personnel from Belpahar police station, reached the site and launched an investigation.

Police have registered a case and are probing the circumstances surrounding the killing. The motive and identity of the attackers remain unclear.
