Cuttack: A pall of shock has descended on Odisha's police fraternity in Cuttack after Lady Inspector Beauty Mohanty was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her official quarters.
Reports say the officer, posted as Inspector-in-Charge of Chhauliaganj Police Station, was discovered hanging inside her residence. Police rushed to the spot, seized the body, and sent it for autopsy.
While suicide is suspected, the exact cause of death remains unclear, and investigators are examining all possible angles.
Mohanty, a senior officer, had earlier served as the Inspector-in-Charge of the Mahila Police Station and Pahala Police Station, earning respect for her service record. Her sudden death has left colleagues stunned and raised questions about the circumstances leading to the tragedy.
