Bhadrak: Shock and anger gripped Jena Sahi in Jagannathpur of Bhadrak district after police arrested a man accused of raping his minor niece inside their home.
The accused, identified as Sinu Murmu, allegedly took advantage of the absence of other family members to commit the ghastly crime.
The incident came to light when the traumatised girl confided in her family upon their return. They immediately lodged a complaint with Bhadrak Town Police, who arrested Murmu and initiated legal proceedings.
Police confirmed that the victim's medical examination has been conducted and her statement recorded. Police officials said a detailed inquiry is underway, and the accused will be forwarded to court.
Police have assured that all legal measures will be taken to ensure justice for the minor and her family.
