Bhubaneswar: In a move that blends cinema with social conscience, the Odisha Government has declared the Odia film Aafaa tax-free across the State.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi approved the proposal on Wednesday, giving the film a wider reach among audiences.
Directed by Pritiraj Satpathy and produced by Naina Das Tiwari, Aafaa tackles the sensitive yet vital subject of organ donation. At its heart lies the story of a 16-year-old girl battling a life-threatening illness who chooses to donate her organs, an act of courage that resonates far beyond the screen.
Officials said the decision reflects the government's belief that cinema can be a powerful messenger. With its poignant narrative and uplifting message, Aafaa is expected to inspire young viewers to embrace humanity and understand the life-saving importance of organ donation.
