Bhubaneswar: In a dramatic turn, the Odisha government has rejected the resignation aplication of Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena, ensuring the 2013-batch IPS officer continues in service.
Meena, 37, had submitted his resignation in July citing personal reasons, sparking speculation about his future in the force. He clarified that the decision was made after discussions with family and friends, not under political or external pressure.
With nearly 13 years of service, Meena has held key postings as SP in Malkangiri, Anugul, and Ganjam, and later as DCP in Cuttack before taking charge in Bhubaneswar on February 28, 2025.
The government's refusal to accept his resignation puts an end to weeks of uncertainty, keeping Meena at the helm of Bhubaneswar's police administration.
