Dhenkanal: A goods-laden trolley, misled by an online map route, lost control and rammed into a house in Hatibari village under Gandia block of the Dhenkanal district.

The collision claimed the life of a resident, identified as Asthira Trayi.

The trolley, registered in Jharkhand, was en route from Dhenkanal to Kolkata. Reports suggest the driver followed directions from an online navigation app, which diverted the vehicle off its intended course near Mandar Square. The trolley then veered into Hatibari village, striking a tractor parked outside a house before smashing into the building.

The impact caused severe damage to the structure and left the local community in shock. Police have seized the vehicle and begun investigations. The incident has sparked concern over the growing reliance on digital maps, especially on rural routes where navigation errors can prove deadly.
