Mumbai: Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon's household has been rocked by a shocking theft, with jewellery and luxury watches worth nearly Rs 25 lakh allegedly stolen from her mother's locker.
The Juhu Police have arrested a woman known to the family in connection with the case.
The accused, identified as 47-year-old Rashi Chhabria, had been visiting the Tandon residence since 2020. According to police, she gradually won the family's trust by offering care and assistance to the actress's mother. Police allege she broke open a locker and stole gold and diamond jewellery along with two high-end watches.
The theft came to light when the family noticed valuables missing. Initially confronted, Chhabria denied involvement, but suspicion grew and a formal complaint was lodged.
During questioning, police say she confessed to the crime. Some stolen watches have already been recovered, while efforts continue to trace the remaining jewellery.
The investigation is ongoing, with police working to piece together the full extent of the theft.
