New Delhi: A quiet but significant reshuffle is unfolding within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), centering on one of its most prominent young leaders, Raghav Chadha.
What began as a parliamentary adjustment has now turned into a move that is sparking speculation in political circles.
According to reports, AAP has written to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat requesting Chadha's removal as the party's deputy leader in the Upper House. The communication also reportedly asked that Chadha not be allotted speaking time from AAP's quota, a double step that has fueled talk of a strategic reset.
While no official explanation has been offered, insiders describe the decision as a "structural adjustment" rather than disciplinary action. The party has proposed Ashok Mittal as Chadha's replacement, a role crucial for managing debates and coordination among AAP's 10 Rajya Sabha MPs.
Chadha's rise has been swift, from working with Arvind Kejriwal during the 2012 Lokpal movement to becoming one of AAP's most visible faces. He entered the Rajya Sabha in 2022 at just 33, making him one of the youngest MPs. For now, the party remains silent on the reasons, but Delhi's political corridors see the reshuffle as a calculated strategy.
