Keonjhar: An accident near Rasol Square under Daitari police station limits in the Keonjhar district claimed two lives and left two others critically injured on Thursday morning.
The ill-fated speeding car, carrying four passengers en route to Harichandanpur, lost control and plunged off a bridge.
Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle veered suddenly before crashing down, leaving the occupants trapped.
Two passengers died on the spot, while the other two were seriously injured. Local police rushed to the spot, initiating rescue operations and pulling the survivors from the wreckage.
The injured were first taken to Harichandanpur Community Health Centre (CHC), but as their condition worsened, they were shifted to Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for advanced treatment.
Local police have begun an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident. The identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed.
