Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will release pending payments to over 1.23 lakh women beneficiaries who were excluded from the fourth instalment of the Subhadra Yojana, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced on Saturday.

In a post on X, Parida said a total of 1,23,849 beneficiaries who were left out earlier will receive financial assistance under the scheme on May 4. The move comes after the state government directed officials to identify eligible women who did not receive the fourth instalment disbursed on March 8.

Authorities were asked to compile a list of such beneficiaries who missed out on the payment due to various reasons during the previous phase of disbursement.

The fourth instalment of the flagship scheme was released on the occasion of International Women's Day, benefiting more than 1.02 crore women across Odisha. The government had then disbursed financial assistance amounting to Rs 5,000 crore under the scheme.

The upcoming release is expected to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries are brought under the ambit of the scheme without further delay.
