A major bridge project near Iran's capital suffered heavy damage after reported US-Israeli strikes, escalating tensions in the region amid sharp warnings from US President Donald Trump.

Iranian state media said the B1 bridge in Karaj, west of Tehran, was targeted twice, leaving several people injured. The first strike reportedly caused civilian casualties, while the second hit occurred as emergency teams were assisting victims at the site.

The bridge, still under construction, was planned to connect Tehran with Karaj and stood at a height of 136 metres. Touted as one of the tallest in the Middle East, it was seen as a major engineering project. Footage circulating online showed thick smoke rising before sections of the structure collapsed.

"A few minutes ago, the American-Zionist enemy once again targeted the B1 bridge in Karaj," state television said.

Trump shared visuals of the strike on Truth Social, posting, "The biggest bridge in Iran comes tumbling down, never to be used again – Much more to follow!" He also warned Tehran to reach a deal "before it is too late".

Earlier, Trump claimed US-Israeli operations had significantly weakened Iran's military capabilities. "Our enemies are losing… and America… is winning bigger than ever before," he said, adding that strikes would intensify over the next two to three weeks, including potential targeting of Iranian power infrastructure.
