Vidip Dilip Jadhav, the personal security officer (PSO) of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, was laid to rest with full state honours in his native village in Satara late on Wednesday night.

Who Was Vidip Dilip Jadhav?

Vidip Jadhav had been serving as Ajit Pawar's personal security officer for the past four years. He joined the Mumbai Police in 2009 and was part of the Protection Department. Before his posting with Pawar, he had served in areas such as Naigaon and Dadar.

Jadhav is survived by his wife Sandya, their daughter and son, and his parents. He lived with his family in Surya Nagar near Vitawa in Kalwa. Neighbours described the family as warm and close-knit, and remembered Jadhav as a dedicated professional who spent most of his time on duty.

Family and Neighbours Remember Him Fondly

Residents of the neighbourhood recalled that the family had lived in the area for nearly two decades. Neighbours said Jadhav was rarely at home due to work commitments, but his family maintained strong bonds within the community.

Many locals expressed grief over his sudden death and gathered to support the family during the last rites.

Ajit Pawar's Last Rite , Grand Gathering

Meanwhile, the last rites of Ajit Pawar will be held today at 11 am in Baramati, his political stronghold. His mortal remains were kept at the Vidya Pratishtan ground to allow people to pay their final respects.

Several senior leaders are expected to attend, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

The Maharashtra government has announced three days of state mourning following Pawar's death, as the state continues to grieve the loss of a senior leader and those who died with him.
