Dhamangar: The Excise Department seized 145 gm of heroin worth an estimated Rs14.50 lakh and arrested a 33-year-old man during a raid in the Uchhapada area under Asurali Gram Panchayat in Bhadrak district Wednesday, officials said.
Acting on a tip-off, the Bhadrak Excise Mobile Team raided the area and recovered the heroin from the boot of a scooter bearing registration number OD-22-Y-4119.
Excise officials arrested Tanmay Bai, a resident of the Gobindpur panchayat area under Dhamnagar police station, from the spot.

The raid was conducted under the direction of Excise Superintendent Narottam Mishra and the supervision of Deputy Superintendent Sucharita Mishra.
Inspector Rajkishore Jena, Sub-Inspector Natabar Mahalik and other Excise personnel participated in the operation.
The Excise Department registered case (279/26) in connection with the seizure and forwarded the accused to court.
