7-Year-Old Jumps Into Pool To Save His Little Sister - Heroic Act Ends In Tragedy

What can you do to protect your siblings?

This 7-year-old proved that he was willing to go to any extent to protect his sister. Unfortunately, the heroic act ended in a tragedy as both children drowned.

Originally from Nepal, the parents of the children — Dipesh Karanbhai Bhandari (age 7) and Deepsika Karanbhai Bhandari (age 5) — started working as sanitation workers at the Sopan Heights building in Rajkot, Gujarat, just 2 weeks back.

On Monday afternoon, while their mother was busy at work and their father was asleep at home, the children stepped out to play in the compound. The CCTV footage that is circulating online shows them entering the swimming pool area.

Dipesh can be seen sitting on the edge of the pool. Moments later, Deepsika comes running towards him and, while trying to sit beside him, slips into the pool and begins to drown. Panicked, Dipesh jumped in to save her but couldn’t.

Unfortunately, both lost their lives.

The security footage shows that there was no adult present near the pool. Not even the guards. Although the pool is secured with a safety fence, the door was reportedly left open.

While the incident is heartbreaking, it also raises serious questions about the safety of children around swimming pools. With better safety measures, proper supervision, and stricter access control, such tragedies can be prevented.
