Union Minister for Agriculture &amp; Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, during his visit to Rajasthan today, participated in the state-level program of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin in Baran along with Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma.

He also handed over an approval letter for ₹340.59 crore under agricultural development initiatives and the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana. The program was attended by Members of Parliament, MLAs, ministers in charge, and a large number of local residents.PM&apos;s Commitment to Pucca Houses for the Poor Being FulfilledAddressing the gathering, Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi&apos;s commitment to providing pucca houses to poor families in Rajasthan is being fulfilled. &quot;Today, approval is being given for 2,89,355 houses at a cost of ₹3,473 crore and this gift is being dedicated to Rajasthan.It will bring a positive transformation in the lives of families who have so far been living in kutcha houses,&quot; he said. He added that ₹340.59 crore under various agriculture-related schemes has also been released for the development of the state.Survey Completed for 29.13 Lakh New BeneficiariesShri Chouhan informed that a survey of 29,13,749 new beneficiaries has been completed. After physical verification, houses will also be sanctioned for the remaining eligible beneficiaries. He directed that transparent beneficiary lists be displayed at the district and panchayat levels, objections be heard, and wrongful exclusion of eligible beneficiaries be prevented so that deserving families do not lose their benefits due to errors.Three Major Changes in Eligibility RulesShri Chouhan announced three major changes in the eligibility criteria for housing assistance. Families owning a two-wheeler will now also be eligible for a pucca house, removing the earlier restriction. Women earning up to ₹15,000 per month will also be eligible for the benefit. The earlier income ceiling was ₹10,000 per month. Small farmers owning up to 5 acres of unirrigated land or 2.5 acres of irrigated land will also be eligible for housing assistance.Women&apos;s Empowerment and Lakhpati Didi MissionThe Union Minister said that women&apos;s empowerment is one of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi&apos;s key priorities. He announced that 16 lakh women in Rajasthan have so far become Lakhpati Didis, and the target will now be doubled to 32 lakh Lakhpati Didis.Shri Chouhan further said that ₹13,400 crore has so far been disbursed to women through various banks to support their entrepreneurial activities.Viksit Bharat-G RAM G Yojana for Rural DevelopmentReferring to the newly introduced Viksit Bharat-G RAM G Yojana, Shri Chouhan said that Rajasthan has been given a target of ₹12,000 crore in investment over the next nine months. He said the impact of the initiative would reach every gram panchayat, with a target of providing approximately ₹80 lakh annually to each panchayat.The Union Minister made it clear that development priorities in villages would not be decided in Delhi or Jaipur. &quot;The people themselves will decide development plans at the panchayat level,&quot; he said.Ensuring Fertiliser Availability and Protecting Farmers from High CostsOn the availability of urea, Shri Chouhan said the government was ensuring that farmers were not burdened by international prices. He said that although a bag of urea costs around ₹3,000, arrangements have been made to ensure that farmers receive it for only ₹266. He also assured farmers of strict action against black marketing of fertilisers and other agricultural inputs.Strict Action Against Fake Agricultural InputsShri Chouhan said that the existing legal framework is not adequate to deal with the menace of fake pesticides and substandard seeds. He announced that stronger legislation relating to pesticides and seeds would be brought in the next session of Parliament, with provisions for stringent punishment for those involved in such malpractice and stronger protection for farmers.Agriculture Roadmap for the Kota-Jhalawar RegionShri Chouhan said that he would work with scientists and local farmers to prepare a comprehensive agricultural roadmap for the Kota-Jhalawar region. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday reviewed the state's law and order situation and directed police authorities to strengthen a modern, responsive, people-centric policing system, with greater emphasis on crime prevention and effective investigations.

The state government had informed the Assembly on July 6 that chargesheets had been filed in only around 54 per cent of nearly 10 lakh cases registered across Assam since 2016, when the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) first came to power in the state.Sarma has repeatedly stressed the importance of improving policing, strengthening investigative mechanisms and ensuring better delivery of security services to citizens. Separately, Assam Chief Secretary Ravi Kota on Monday met with Major General Inderjit Singh Bhinder, Inspector General of Assam Rifles (East), to discuss security and development issues in the state and the wider Northeast.According to Kota, the discussions focused on enhancing coordination between civil authorities and security forces, particularly on security, border management, and development. The Chief Secretary also acknowledged the Assam Rifles&apos; contribution to maintaining peace and security and its continued engagement with communities across the Northeast.

Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Monday inaugurated the auction of important and strategic mineral blocks and a workshop organised by the Ministry of Coal and Mines, Government of India, in connection with the National Mineral Exploration and Development Trust (NMEDT).

The Chief Minister said the government is working to fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi&apos;s vision of a developed India and the goal of a prosperous Bihar.He said surveys have progressed in 28 of Bihar&apos;s 44 mining blocks and that the state intends to complete the process for more than 30 blocks by September 30. Mining activities are targeted to begin from October 15. Several mineral blocks have already been put up for tender, while the process for additional blocks is underway.Officials have been instructed to complete the remaining work within nine months. Highlighting the state&apos;s mineral wealth, Choudhary pointed to limestone in Rohtas, mineral resources in Aurangabad, deposits in Jehanabad and Jamui, and additional potential in Gaya, Banka and Bhagalpur.He said these resources would be systematically utilised in the interest of Bihar&apos;s people and revenue generated through royalties would be used for public welfare and development. Choudhary said Bihar&apos;s budget has now reached Rs 3.47 lakh crore and development projects are being implemented rapidly.He linked mineral development with the government&apos;s broader investment strategy, saying efforts are underway to establish mineral-related centres and achieve the state&apos;s target of attracting Rs 5 lakh crore in investment by November. He said he had held discussions with Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy and praised Union Minister of State Satish Chandra Dubey for his efforts related to Bihar.Appealing to investors, Choudhary said the state government is offering concessions and incentives to facilitate industrial investment. &quot;We urge everyone to invest in Bihar with an open mind. Kerala will launch the second phase of land reforms and bring in timely amendments to existing land laws, Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan announced on Monday, unveiling a series of major policy initiatives ranging from a new Kerala Brand for agricultural products to an AI-based system to prevent wildlife attacks and a phased increase in the rubber support price to Rs 300 per kg.

<nh-chunk-delimit />Addressing the state-level Farmers&apos; Day celebrations and state Farmers&apos; Awards function at Kalamassery, Satheesan said the proposed land-law changes would seek to revive plantations that had remained closed for years while creating new economic opportunities without compromising environmental safeguards.The government plans to give greater value addition to agricultural produce and take it to national and international markets under the Kerala Brand. Multi-crop farming involving high-value crops such as avocado and rambutan would also be expanded as part of the strategy to increase farm incomes.The Chief Minister said the full-scale commissioning of the Vizhinjam International Port would provide a major boost to exports of Kerala&apos;s agricultural products and spices by making transportation faster and cheaper. More warehouses would be established to allow farmers to store their produce and sell it when market prices are favourable.In another major initiative, the government has earmarked Rs 200 crore to tackle the growing problem of man-animal conflict in the state&apos;s hilly regions. Satheesan said a comprehensive system integrating Artificial Intelligence and other modern technologies with existing mechanisms would be implemented to prevent wildlife attacks and protect farmers.Rubber farmers were also promised further relief. Satheesan said the government would gradually raise the rubber support price to Rs 300 per kg. The support price has already been increased from Rs 200 to Rs 250 per kg, he said. The Chief Minister also announced that compensation for crop losses caused by climate change and natural calamities had been increased by 25 per cent, with further improvements being considered.He said the government had cleared outstanding payments due to paddy farmers within two months of assuming office and sanctioned the required funds despite the financial crisis. A permanent mechanism would be introduced to ensure timely payment to farmers whenever paddy is procured in the future, he added.Satheesan said climate change had disrupted Kerala&apos;s agricultural calendar, with farmers among its first victims, and assured that the government would adopt a supportive approach towards them.

<nh-chunk-delimit /> The meeting reviewed the progress of projects under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP) and deliberated on priorities for the next phase of industrial corridor development.The meeting was attended by Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal; Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav; and Vice-Chairman, NITI Aayog, Shri Ashok Kumar Lahiri. Chairing the meeting, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman appreciated the progress made under NICDP and said that the encouraging results on the ground indicate growing investor demand.She emphasised that the next pipeline of industrial land and infrastructure should be prepared well before the existing inventory is exhausted. Smt. Sitharaman stated that Industrial Corridors are an important pillar of the Government of India&apos;s strategy to expand manufacturing, strengthen logistics competitiveness and create globally competitive industrial ecosystems.Recalling the emphasis placed at the previous Apex meeting, she said that Industrial Corridor development should be taken forward in the spirit of &apos;Team India&apos;. She also underlined the importance of convergence of Freight, Industrial Development, Railways and Expressways, the FIRE Corridors, for the success of the programme.The Finance Minister stressed that the focus must now move beyond project approvals towards timely completion of infrastructure, land allotment, investment and commencement of production. She urged States to resolve bottlenecks relating to land, connectivity, utilities, statutory clearances and the powers of project Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs).She further stressed the need for integrated planning through PM GatiShakti and continued use of investor-friendly land allotment mechanisms. Worker housing, healthcare, skilling, public transport and other social amenities, she said, should form an integral part of industrial development.Smt. Sitharaman also highlighted the Government of India&apos;s support for infrastructure and manufacturing through enhanced public capital expenditure, support to States under SASCI, improved credit support for manufacturing MSMEs, and tax and customs measures aimed at strengthening domestic manufacturing and supply chains.Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, called for faster and outcome-oriented implementation of Industrial Corridor projects, with greater focus on timely investment and operationalisation. Shri Goyal stated that BHAVYA and future industrial developments should be aligned with PM GatiShakti and planned through an integrated area-development approach.He called for focused investor outreach and stronger marketing of industrial nodes, including leveraging opportunities arising from India&apos;s Free Trade Agreements and exploring country- and sector-specific industrial enclaves. The Minister emphasised the need to match investor requirements with suitable locations and develop ready-to-use industrial ecosystems with plug-and-play infrastructure, flatted factories, worker housing and supporting economic and social infrastructure.Such an approach, he said, would facilitate faster investment and commencement of operations. The National Industrial Corridor Development Programme now covers 20 approved projects across 13 States and 7 Industrial Corridors. Four industrial smart cities Dholera, Shendra-Bidkin, Greater Noida and Vikram Udyogpuri have entered the production stage.The 12 projects approved in August 2024 are also progressing, with infrastructure development, land allotment and investor engagement increasingly being undertaken in parallel. So far, 469 plots covering approximately 5,348 acres have been allotted, with an estimated investment potential of around ₹2.21 lakh crore and employment potential of approximately 1.29 lakh persons.134 units are already in production, while another 95 units are under construction. Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, emphasised the integration of national waterways with Industrial Corridors and suggested examining waterways as a potential spine for corridor development.He also stressed the need to develop industrial infrastructure in the North-Eastern States to broaden the country&apos;s industrial base, particularly at locations offering strong connectivity, land availability, local resource advantages and market potential.Vice-Chairman, NITI Aayog, Shri Ashok Kumar Lahiri, urged State Governments to give greater priority to empowering project SPVs with adequate planning, development and municipal powers, in line with the approved institutional and legal framework of the Industrial Corridor Programme.He emphasised that effective delegation of these powers would enable SPVs to take timely decisions, reduce dependence on multiple State agencies and facilitate more coordinated, efficient and investor-friendly development.The meeting commenced with the welcome address by Secretary, DPIIT and Chairman, NICDIT, Shri Amardeep Singh Bhatia, who outlined the progress since the previous Apex meeting and key implementation issues before the Authority.This was followed by a presentation by CEO, NICDIT, Shri Rajat Kumar Saini, on the current status of Industrial Corridor projects, including progress in implementation, land allotment and investor mobilisation, as well as project-specific issues requiring coordination with States.Representatives from participating States shared project-wise progress, key implementation challenges and areas requiring coordinated support. The discussions provided a platform for focused Centre-State engagement to resolve project-specific issues and accelerate implementation.The Apex Authority underlined that the next measure of progress would be the speed at which completed and ongoing projects translate into active manufacturing centres, investment and employment. The Apex Authority also reviewed the rollout of the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana (BHAVYA), which envisages the development of 100 investment-ready, plug-and-play industrial parks across the country.Against up to 20 projects proposed for approval in the first round, 87 applications have been received from States, reflecting strong interest in the scheme across the country. It was emphasised that the planning and appraisal of BHAVYA projects should be fully aligned with PM GatiShakti, with infrastructure in and around industrial areas being planned as an integral part of industrial development.BHAVYA will build on the experience gained from Industrial Corridor projects. The appraisal of proposals will focus on factors including availability of ready land, credible industrial demand, strong connectivity, assured utilities, realistic phasing and the ability to attract investors at an early stage.The discussions at the meeting underlined a clear direction for the next phase of industrial infrastructure development: progress will be measured not only by the infrastructure created, but also by how quickly projects attract investment, commence production and generate economic activity and employment.The meeting was also attended virtually by Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal; Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis; Chief Minister of Bihar, Shri Samrat Choudhary; Chief Minister of Haryana, Shri Nayab Singh Saini; Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri V.
