Representing India, Navhyam competed against skaters from several countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, and host nation Indonesia. He secured the silver medal in the 400-metre speed race in the Basic Inline Skating Boys Category C, showcasing impressive talent and determination on the international stage.
Apart from his podium finish, the young skater delivered strong performances in other events as well. He narrowly missed a place in the final of the 300-metre race by a small margin and advanced to the semi-finals in the 500-metre race.
Navhyam also took part in the 1800-metre international team relay along with two other Indian skaters. Although the team completed the race successfully, they missed out on a medal by a close timing difference.
This achievement adds another milestone to Navhyam’s growing sporting journey. Earlier this year, he had emerged as the champion at the 25th National Speed Skating Championship held in Chennai in January, marking himself as one of the country’s most promising young athletes.
The international championship not only brought him success but also valuable exposure, allowing him to compete with some of the best young skaters in the region and gain important experience.
Navhyam’s achievement has been widely celebrated in Assam and is expected to inspire many young athletes across the state to pursue sports at a competitive level.
