The list for the expansion of the Assam Cabinet under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has been finalised and approved.
The Chief Minister made the announcement on Sunday morning through social media after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi the day before. Sharing the update, CM Sarma said that the cabinet expansion will take place on June 5, with the swearing-in ceremony scheduled to be held in Guwahati.
It may be mentioned that CM Sarma had earlier indicated that the expansion would take place after June 3.
Apart from the cabinet expansion discussions on Saturday, with Prime Minister Modi, CM Sarma also attended a key meeting with Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, where the progress of railway projects in Assam was reviewed.
Following these engagements, the Chief Minister officially announced the cabinet expansion plan, setting the stage for a significant political development in the state.
