In a tragic incident early this morning, a Class 10 student lost her life after falling from a bridge near the ASTC area into the Kolong River in Assam's Nagaon district.

According to reports, the girl fell into the river under unclear circumstances, triggering panic in the area. She was quickly rescued by locals and rushed to Bhogeswari Phukanani Civil Hospital in Nagaon.

However, doctors at the hospital declared her dead on arrival.

The deceased has been identified as a student of Nagaon Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School. The incident has sent shockwaves across the locality, with family members and residents in deep grief.
