Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday launched a sharp personal critique of Raijor Dal leader and MLA Akhil Gogoi, raising questions about the consistency of his public behaviour and remarks.
Interacting with reporters, CM Sarma claimed that despite their political rivalry, the two leaders have remained in regular contact. He stated that Akhil Gogoi frequently reaches out to him over the phone, including shortly before allying with the Congress, when he allegedly had extended conversations with both CM Sarma and state minister Pijush Hazarika.
According to the Chief Minister, these interactions often include discussions beyond politics, touching upon personal matters as well. However, he alleged that Gogoi’s public conduct appears inconsistent and unpredictable.
Assam CM further remarked that the Raijor Dal leader’s reactions in public forums can shift abruptly, suggesting a contrast between his private conversations and his public statements. He added that his observations were based on multiple interactions over time.
