Assam's opposition parties have heavily dismissed recent exit polls predicting an NDA return in the 2026 assembly elections.
Key figures including Akhil Gogoi, Lurinjyoti Gogoi, Paban Singh Ghatowar, and Rakibul Hussain argue the pollsters completely missed a massive wave of "silent voting" against the ruling government. While veteran leaders acknowledge the surface-level impact of BJP's direct cash transfer schemes, the opposition remains firm that ground-level anti-incumbency and public frustration will ultimately bring the opposition alliance to power when the actual results are declared.
