A protest in Nagaon took a dramatic turn after clashes broke out between demonstrators and police outside the Sadar Police Station, leading to the arrest of a protest leader.
Birinchi Bora, who was leading the demonstration, was taken into custody by police and later sent to 14 days of judicial custody by a court.
The protest, held on Thursday in front of the Nagaon Sadar Police Station, quickly turned heated as demonstrators clashed with police. The situation became tense as both sides were involved in a scuffle.
Protesters raised slogans like "Assam Police Go Back" and "Godi Media Go Back," creating a charged atmosphere in the area.
Following the incident, police registered a case against Bora under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including 189(2), 189(3), 191(2), 121(1), 223, 285, 296, and 61(2), under case number 551/26.
