Gauhati University has issued a strong clarification dismissing circulating claims regarding admissions for the 2026-27 academic session and cautioning students against relying on unauthorised online platforms.
The university’s response comes after an external education portal, identified as Education Dunia, allegedly published admission-related information that created confusion among prospective applicants.
A spokesperson from the university made it clear that no formal notification regarding admissions for the upcoming academic year has been released so far. The circulating details, the official said, are not endorsed by the institution and should be treated as misleading.
The clarification follows growing concern among students who had encountered the purported admission schedule and eligibility information online. University authorities have advised candidates to avoid acting on such unverified claims.
Reiterating its official protocol, the university stated that all admission announcements, including procedures linked to the Common Admission Portal, will be issued through the Department of Higher Education, Government of Assam, along with updates published on the university’s official website.
Officials stressed that, the university emphasised that authentic information regarding the admission process would be disseminated through designated official platforms. It also urged students and stakeholders to verify any updates before acting on them to avoid misinformation.
