A man from Assam's Moran area has gone missing in Odisha while reportedly searching for employment, leaving his family in deep distress.

The missing person has been identified as Montu Chutia from 1 No. Doomur Dullung village under Moran Police Station in Charaideo district. According to family members, he left home on May 10 for Cuttack in Odisha in search of work.

After reaching Cuttack, Montu reportedly joined a company named Cuttack International Private Limited. However, within a day of joining, he went missing and has not been traced since then.

His family said they have made efforts to locate him by travelling to Cuttack, but were unable to find any clue about his whereabouts. They also alleged that they did not receive adequate assistance from authorities during their search.

With no information available for nearly 20 days, the family has approached the media seeking help. The Moran Regional Students’ Union has also urged the Assam government to intervene and take steps to trace the missing youth.

As Montu is the only earning member of the family, his disappearance has left the household in a difficult situation, with his elderly parents and children facing uncertainty.

Family members have appealed to the government to ensure that he is found and returned safely.
